UPDATED Response to Covid-19

Phases of Re-Engaging In-Person Ministry

Dear Friends of YFC,

We cannot thank you enough for the faithful support you have shown us throughout the pandemic. As we move toward re-engaging in-person ministry with teens, we are proceeding with discernment and at all times we will follow Federal, State, and Local guidelines. Phase 1 and Phase 2 of our re-engagement plan are outlined as follows:

Phase 1 of re-engaging in-person ministry with teens:
At WMYFC we care about teens and understand their need for healthy connection. In this unique season, we are committed to building authentic relationships as we help teens succeed in every area of life. To safely re-engage with in-person connections we are focused on smaller shared experiences outdoors where we can maintain appropriate safety precautions.
Steps we are taking to maintain a safe approach for these shared experiences:

Allow students to participate only if parents/guardians give permission and feel comfortable with connections
Keep all shared experiences to a small group (10 or less)
Hold shared experiences outdoors
Encourage social distancing during activities
Leaders and students will not be allowed to participate in connections if experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19
Hand sanitizer available for hand washing before, during, and after shared connections

Phase 2 of in-person ministry with teens (this will correlate with Governor Whitmer’s announcement that our region has moved into Phase 5 of her public plan):
When we move into this next phase we will allow some adjustments in our approach while maintaining many of our precautions from Phase 1 above:

Increased group size for participation (25 or less)
Addition of appropriate indoor locations for connection
Additional flexibility in the transportation of students/leaders with masks
Additional flexibility in serving of shared food with proper precautions

We covet your prayers as we enter into these phases of re-engaging with teens in-person. We are expectant of all that God will do in the days ahead.

some of those stories in a digital book
for you. We hope you find it encouraging.
