My name is Dr. Marvin J. Vander Vliet. I grew up in NE Grand Rapids. My wife (Barbara) and I have five children and six grandchildren. I graduated from Calvin College and Calvin Seminary. My Doctoral program was completed in Sioux Falls Seminary in South Dakota.
I served Christian Reformed Churches in Ellsworth and Cutlerville, MI; Hawarden, Iowa; and Jenison, MI. I served the Calvinist Cadet Corps in various capacities, including Chaplain and International Camporees. We in are members of Ivanrest CRC in Grandville, where we live.
I began serving Youth for Christ: Juvenile Justice Ministry in 2004. I now work with Pastor Dan Chapin, our JJM Director, in Sunday worship and visitation at the Kent County Juvenile Detention Center.
